Chip Buddies Shipping Policy Delivering that authentic New Zealand Chip Shop flavour straight to your door — Mild & Mellow Curry Salt jars and our Chip Shop Style Curry Sauce pouches, only within NZ!

We ship exclusively within New Zealand to New Zealand addresses. We do not ship internationally or to any locations outside NZ. This keeps things simple, fast, and fully compliant with local laws (no customs hassles!).

This policy complies with New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA). Your statutory rights under these Acts are not affected — goods must be delivered on time (or within a reasonable time if no specific time agreed), in good condition, and as described.

Shipping Areas & Restrictions

  • Domestic only: New Zealand-wide (including North Island, South Island, and offshore islands where NZ Post delivers).
  • No international shipping: We currently do not offer shipping outside New Zealand.
  • Address requirements: Please provide a valid NZ residential or delivery address (PO Boxes accepted where NZ Post allows). We reserve the right to cancel/refund orders with invalid or non-NZ addresses.

Shipping Methods & Carriers

We use NZ Post for safe, reliable, tracked delivery of your condiments. Fragile items like glass jars are packed with extra care to prevent breakage.

Dispatch & Delivery Times

As a small Tasman-based business, we dispatch orders twice a week (typically on Mondays or Tuesdays, depending on when orders come in).

  • Estimated delivery: 3–7 business days from dispatch
  • These are estimates only and not guaranteed.
  • Under the CGA, if no specific delivery time is agreed, delivery must occur within a reasonable time (considering normal NZ domestic shipping practices). If a timeframe was promised and not met, or delay is unreasonable, contact us — we’ll sort it under your CGA rights.

Tracking

Most orders include tracking. You’ll receive a tracking number via email once dispatched. Check your spam if it doesn’t arrive!

Costs

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on order weight, size, and location (e.g., Curry Salt jar + Sauce pouch combo). We offer flat rates or free shipping thresholds where possible — see product pages/cart for current details. Prices include GST where applicable.

We understand shipping can be expensive in NZ, especially for smaller orders — that's why we encourage checking for our products in local stores where available (supermarkets, delis, or chip shops in your area might stock us soon!).

Risk & Title

  • Title (ownership) and risk of loss/damage pass to you once we hand the package to NZ Post.
  • We’re responsible for ensuring products are properly packaged and handed over in good condition.

Delivery Issues

  • Damaged on arrival: Take photos of packaging + item and contact us immediately at chipbuddies2024@gmail.com. Under CGA, if goods arrive damaged (not due to your actions post-delivery), you’re entitled to repair, replacement, or refund.
  • Lost/missing: We’ll work with NZ Post to investigate (tracked orders help!). If not resolved, CGA applies for redress.
  • Delays: If unreasonably late, let us know — we’ll follow up and resolve per CGA/FTA (no misleading delivery promises here!).
  • Wrong address: If due to your error, additional fees may apply for redelivery.
